Tierras de concreto (Concrete earth)

Cement, steel wire, sand, stone, and glass lantern. 2023

These pieces that allude to an organic world but that, in the end, end up appearing rigid, belong to a world where human subjectivity -with its hierarchies- has been banished and where other relationships between objects, forms, and materials are configured. The natural and the artificial, the organic and the non-organic, are blurred in unprecedented relationships that offer a new sinister landscape where the assumed passive becomes active and the familiar unknown. The streetlight has descended like an artificial and agonizing sun that tries, from its precariousness, to give warmth to these concrete lands it tries to embrace. Are they fossils? Bones? Dead nature?
