EKUMEN

Ekumen is an independent contemporary art space in Lima, Peru, founded by Josefina as part of her artistic practice. Based in a house that brings together artists’ studios, exhibition programs, and public activities, the project emerged from the need to share processes, build community, and create a space for collaborative and emerging practices within the local art scene.

Its program includes exhibitions, residencies, talks, and gatherings connected to food and artistic production. Ekumen works collectively alongside artists, curators, and other cultural agents, offering support throughout processes of artistic production and circulation.

Its form changes over time, responding to the needs of those who inhabit it and to the conditions of a cultural ecosystem marked by precarity. Through this process, Ekumen is understood as an affective structure and a shared territory, sustained by relationships, collective work, and mutual care among those who make it possible.
